A brief description of some terms used in the construction of PVC Windows, followed by a listing of Noble PVC Windows Energy Star rated windows.

U-Value: We all know that there is a difference between indoor and outdoor temperatures.  ‘U-values’ measure that difference.  A low value indicates that a material, such as glass, is not losing as much interior heat to the outside of your home.

R-Value:  A measure of resistance to heat transfer.  Simply put, a higher ‘R-Value’ indicates less heat transfer and therefore increased efficiency.

Shading Coefficient:  On a clear summer day the sun is hot which causes our air conditioners to work overtime.  Glass with optional coatings and gas fills can dramatically lower ‘solar heat gain’.  The shading coefficient gives us a way to calculate the solar heat gain.  Low is better.

Solar Reflectance:  The amount of the suns’ energy that is reflected by a material such as glass.  The more energy that is reflected the more comfortable the interior of a home will be.
